01 // Feastivities

Ever since people from other worlds started showing up through strange wormholes in the sky, locals across every region have started trying to make them feel welcome. Almost everyone agrees that it's best to be kind and friendly to newcomers, to ensure that they are treated well so that they treat others well. And so, many regions have been holding monthly feasts to celebrate. Free food for anyone who shows up! Below is a list of the main regions where festivities are taking place. Any city within any region is likely to have some sort of feast, parade, street market, or what have you to interact with. Be creative, go wild!

Some ideas:
Are you helping out with the festivals? Are you a newcomer? Are you both new and helping? Have questions, or even better, answers? All game lore is canon, anything you come up with for the musebox setting can be canon, just go wild. Don't feel like you're restricted, either! If your top level is one region but you want to tag in another, nobody is going to stop you or force you to tag within the lines. This is for fun.

02 // I Choose You

Many locals also think these newcomers should have a pokémon if they're going to be staying for some time. Which is why a handful of trainers have gotten together to give your characters a free pokémon! Additionally, trainers are working together to teach newbies how to battle using local gyms or trial sites as arenas.

You can select any (preferrably non-evolved but I'm not the police so like...) pokémon that isn't a legendary/mythical, just to keep things fair. If you're having trouble picking, head over HERE and generate a 'mon randomly!

Some ideas:
Are you new, selecting a 'mon? Are you an old timer, helping teach newcomers how to battle? Are you just here to observe? Maybe you're working the pokécenters and all these new trainers getting their asses kicked is overwhelming?

03 // Where You Rest Your Head

Everyone needs a place to stay, right? Well, lucky for all these new arrivals, people have set up some apartment complexes just for them. The units are decently sized, two bedroom, one bath, one living area. Every floor has a communal kitchen and common room. Accomodations past that vary from place to place. Get creative and describe your digs, visit one another, be roomies, whatever your little heart desires. This is one part mingle prompt and one part worldbuilding exercise, more or less.

01 // Galarian Hospitality

[ Falling out of the sky is not unusual for Akko, but it is generally unpleasant. Falling out of the sky into a world of magical little creatures and people who want to feed her? Way more pleasant! Positively desirable! It's only been a few days since she showed up, along with a handful of other people, but the locals are already throwing a whole entire feast in their honor.

It's more of a fair, really. Market tents and long tables of food and drink everywhere, people brimming with questions about other worlds and, of course, tons of those cute little creatures?? Pokémon, she learns they're called. And they aren't like pets, either - they're treated like people. They sit by their trainers at the tables, sharing curry and making strange sounds. It's exciting to meet them all and Akko has been going from person to person, chatting and asking questions about the pokémon.

By the time she stops to eat something herself, she practically considers herself a living pokédex. (Disclaimer: She is NOT a living pokédex.) She's also not a living currydex, she finds out, when she bites into the spiciest thing she's ever tasted. Her cheeks flush red with the effort it takes not to yell. Her eyes are watering. She is still chewing like this is completely fine. Help this child. ]

02 // Possibilities

[ The trainers handing out pokémon are kind and patient, ready to explain the strengths and weaknesses and particulars of caring for each creature. So, naturally, Akko picks one based entirely on it's big, adorable eyes and disregards all of that strategy nonsense. She kneels down next to the Eevee she's chosen and offers her hand for it to inspect. ]

Hey there! I'm Atsuko Kagari, but everyone calls me Akko. Do you have a name?

03 // Motostoke Public Housing Program

[ After much "vee" and a lot of charades, Akko and Empress Cinnabun the Fifth make their way to the newly built apartment complex in Upper Motostoke. A repurposed factory, apparently, completely gutted and redesigned with shared spaces in mind. Everyone has a roommate here, and Akko is beyond stoked to meet hers.

Still, she could have held back on kicking open the door to her new digs, right? ]

[And the sight that greets poor Akko? W-Well, let's just say...this sums it up rather well.

Ochako is racing around the flat, screeching and trying to corral a very angry looking Cyndaquil back into its ball. The blazing little Pokemon may have stumpy little legs, but darn can it run. Already there are things smoldering, and Ochako has literally been putting out fires from the moment she got the little devil.]

NO!!! STOP, Y-Y-YOU'RE SETTING EVERYTHING ON FIRE!!! B-BAKUGOU-KUN, PLEASE, COME HERE! PLEASE, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I DID TO UPSET YOU!! BUT YOU CAN'T RUN AROUND LIKE THIS IF YOU'RE GOING TO MISBEHAVE!! [The little Pokemon growls, ducking and rolling under the couch, baring sharp little teeth and snorting smoke from its long nose. H-Help...]

[ The first thing to hit Akko is the smell of something burning. Maybe her roommate wasn't great at cooking? Oh well, that's what the taste altering spell was for, right? Though, once she registers the little critter running around and Ochako's shouting sinks in...ah. ]

HEY WAIT A MINUTE, DON'T GO BURNING THE PLACE DOWN, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!

[ Too bad Empress Cinnabun the Fifth is not a Vaporeon, but she can at least prevent Cyndaquil's flaming back from setting the couch ablaze. Akko scrambles to get her wand out of her belt. In one slightly dramatic but well-practiced motion, she points the tip of it at the couch and flicks her wrist upward...sending the couch smashing into the ceiling, granted, but at least she can hold it there long enough for Ochako to get the pokémon back in the ball? ]

[floatsaway]

[Oh, there's someone here. Ochako briefly looks up to see who it is, and maybe quickly apologize or ask for help, but she barely gets a word out before this girl is brandishing what appears to be a...wand? Y-Yeah, it's a wand, maybe, at the couch and it goes hurtling up to the ceiling. Oof, hopefully no one was staying above them, because that's going to be one hell of a rude wake up call.

It seems both human and Pokemon alike are stunned for a second, because...uh. That. That doesn't usually happen. Ochako, at least, is first to recover - because she can do that sort of thing no problem with her Zero Gravity quirk (and was thinking to lift the couch that way in a moment) - and lunges at the tiny hedgehog-like Pokemon. Putting those hero training and quick reflexes to work, grabbing the little mole-like Pokemon into her arms and hugging it tight as it wriggles and squirms to get free - scratching, biting, and flaring up its back in hopes that'd deter the girl from keeping a grip on it. Sadly, no, Ochako is holding that firecracker tight, even as her hands are scalded, and tears roll down her rosy cheeks.]

Ah... [Lord, that smarts. But it's not like she hasn't taken a burn from the real Bakugou before. This is not new.] Shhh...come on, c-calm down. I-I won't put you in the ball, i-if you don't want, but...b-but you need to calm down. Please...I-I know you're a good boy. You're a good boy, Bakugou-kun, so stop being bad...

[ Oh. Oh dear. Honestly, Akko doesn't know exactly what's going on, but she respects Ochako's determination to hold onto this creature, even though it must hurt something fierce. She'd have done the same in her position, really. She hopes with all her heart that Cyndaquil can see and respect that determination, too.

Akko puts the couch down as lightly as she can and makes her way towards Ochako and the struggling Pokémon. She addresses her new friend (sorry she doesn't make the rules you're friends now) first. ]

Hey, are you alright? You're getting burned pretty bad... [ She focuses for a moment on Bakugou, putting her hands on her hips and straightening up to her full (short) height. She might get set on fire for this, but gosh dang it it's not right to be so hostile when someone puts so much faith in you! ] And you knock it off! You're hurting her!

[ Eevee stretches her neck out to sniff at Cyndaquil tentatively. She makes an inquisitive sound, as though asking the other pokémon what they're doing. ]

[floatsaway]

[The tiny Pokemon still tries to struggle, but it seems to be calming down, a little bit, flames dying slowly as Ochako rocks it like a child in her arms.]

I'm...I-I'm fine! I'm fine, th-this is...n-nothing! [It most certainly is not nothing, given by how she's still crying tears of pain, but there's a smile on her face as well. She'll just get it fixed up after, i-it's okay! She has to calm down her fiesty friend here.] Bakugou is just....h-he's just scared! That's it, isn't it? You're just scared...

[The Cyndaquil snorts, growling and baring its teeth at Akko and her Eevee both, but it doesn't flare up its back again, and seems to have stopped squirming. Ochako rubs a hand down the now not so flaming back of her Cyndaquil, breathing a bit heavily as it tenses slightly in her arms.]

You're scared of going in that ball, aren't you? I don't know what sort of life you had, but it'll be okay - I'll take care of you. And you can bite and scratch and burn me all you want, I'll still take care of you. [She sighs, as the Pokemon finally seems to relax, but it's still fuming slightly, and glances at Ochako's blistered hands, then her face, then scoffs slightly, blowing out a puff of smoke.] Haahh...you really are just like him...

[ "And you can bite and scratch and burn me all you want, I'll still take care of you."

Now that's determination and kindness, that's something that makes Akko's heart soar. She's glad to have a roommate like that. She's glad Cyndaquil is going to have such a good trainer. ]

That's the spirit! I'm sure you and Bakugou will be great friends in no time. I'm Atsuko Kagari, by the way, but you can just call me Akko. I think we're roommates.

[ She sets her pokémon down on the floor, allowing her to examine the room and giggling when it gently stamps out the smoldering corner of a couch cushion. ]

Do you want me to heal your hands? I know you said it's nothing and you seem tough enough to handle it, but it'd be even better if they were gone, right?

[floatsaway]

[Ochako has always been like that - kind to a fault, and stubborn as a mule. She can and will take a beating (and has) and get back up so long as her body allows it. Once focused on an end goal, her willpower and resolve are unwavering. This little guy...well, he did remind her a lot of her feisty classmate, hence her naming theme, but also...

She's still a little nervous about the implications that she may be stuck in this world, by herself. It's a bit of projection, placing a name of one of her classmates onto the little Cyndaquil, but it helps keep the anxious nerves and loneliness at bay. Ochako doesn't want to think about the possibility she can't get back to Musutafu and see her friends and family. The people here in this world were kind and extremely generous, but it's not quite the same as being home.

But enough of that. Ochako shakes her head to free her mind of intrusive thoughts, then bows low, making sure to keep a steady grip on her Pokemon, who grunts and snorts out another puff of smoke at the comment about being friends.]

Akko-chan, it's nice to meet you! Um...I-I just wish it wasn't like, um...l-like this, ehehe. I'm Ochako Uraraka--...ah? Eh?! You can heal?! I-I thought your quirk was just that...that levitation thing you did! I can sort of do the same thing with mine, but it's touch based, and--

[She winces a little, as her Cyndaquil shifts in her burned up hands, trying to climb up onto her shoulder, which only makes it freeze for a moment, then swiftly jump to her shoulder and perch there.]

Quirk, what's that? Is that a form of magic?

[ It hasn't occurred to Akko that anyone would be...unfamiliar with magic. It's everywhere. It makes people happy. It's...well, it's magical! How could anyone NOT know about it?! But she's happy to explain if Ochako is confused. ]

[floatsaway]

Eh...n-no? It's a superpower people in my world are born with, that usually manifests at age five. We call them 'quirks'.

[Ochako holds out her hands, palm up. Though the skin may be red, raw, and blistered now, Akko will be able to see that Ochako has raised portions on skin on the tips of each finger, which are slightly pinker than the rest of her skin. Yes, Ochako has toe beans.]

My quirk is Zero Gravity. Anything, or anyone, I touch with all five fingers I can make float by removing their gravity. And when I touch my fingers together like this--ah!! [Oh, bad idea, BAD IDEA! Ochako hisses at the searing pain touching her skin causes, and the Cyndaquil on her shoulder goes rigid again, curling up around her neck and saying absolutely nothing.]

[He knows about pokemon, at least, if only for the fact that it was popular in Japan. He didn't expect to end up landing in the world while walking home one day, but the familiarity makes it easier to adjust. The people? Friendly. The food? Tasty.

Being given his first pokemon ever is a weirdly exciting moment too, and that's probably why he's carrying his Teddiursa like a stuffed doll, the little bear pokemon hanging off of him.

He notes the cute girl kneeling down by the Eevee and approaches with a smile.]

That's an Eevee, isn't it?

[He nudges the little pokemon in his arms, looking down at him.]

This is Tajime, a Teddiursa. I'm Teshima Junta.

[ Akko looks up at the voice and beams as soon as she sees Teddiursa. How cute!!! The Eevee, for her part, tilts her head inquisitively at everyone. ]

Yep! This is...well, I haven't picked a name yet. I'm Atusko Kagari, though. You can just call me Akko. It's very nice to meet you!

[It would be rude not to call her that now since she said that so...]

Can I call you Akko-chan?

[She looks younger than he is, after all.]

It's nice to meet you too, by the way! I was wondering if there were other Japanese here.

[ Akko visibly brightens at the mention of Japan. She's been in England for so long without seeing anyone from back home that it's exciting to potentially talk to someone who understands her better. ]

Sure! Do you have a preference for your name?

[ She scoops up her Eevee and stands up so she can give a greeting bow. ]

Oh, me too! I've been living in England for a while for school, but I'm from Chiba originally.

Not really. You can call me Teshima if you'd like.

[It's sweet that she's being conscientious about it. A cute girl, definitely.

His expression brightens as he whistles lowly, nodding.]

Really? I'm from Chiba myself. Currently, that is. Never been to England actually.

Oh, wow! Small world, huh?

[ Er, multiverse? Whatever. ]

England is a whole lot different, but not in a bad way. Although, I only got to see a small part of it because I was there for school. But what I did see was really beautiful.

Want to travel together and talk about it with me? I uh... don't really know anyone else.

[That's probably shady, a guy just asking a girl outright like this, and he immediately backtracks.]

I mean, just-- if you want. I mean if you already had plans then...

[The unspoken 'I can look for someone else' looms in the air, as he hugs his Teddiursa closer, causing it to squirm in his arms and make a cute sound.]
